Creating a Personalised Care Plan
Every care journey with Surrey Downs Homecare starts with a simple process:
- Free Assessment
We visit you at home (or arrange a video/phone call) to understand your needs, routines, preferences and any risks.
- Tailored Care Plan
We agree what kind of support you want, how often visits will be, and what outcomes you’re aiming for – for example, feeling safer at home, giving a family carer a break, or building confidence after a hospital stay.
- Matching You with Carers
We match you with trained, DBS-checked carers whose experience and personality fit your needs. Where possible, we keep your care team small and consistent, so you see familiar faces.
- Ongoing Reviews
We check how things are going, talk through any changes and adjust your care plan as needed. Care can increase, decrease or change type over time.
Who We Support
We support adults and older people with a wide range of needs, including:
- People who are getting older and finding daily tasks harder
- Individuals living with dementia or memory problems
- Those recovering from illness, surgery or a hospital stay
- People with long-term conditions who want to remain at home
- Family carers who need regular support or respite
- Couples who want to stay together at home, even when one or both need extra help
If you’re not sure whether home care is right for your situation, we’re happy to talk it through and explain what we can and cannot do.
Quality, Training and Regulation
Surrey Downs Homecare is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This means our service is monitored and inspected against key standards relating to:
- Safety
- Effectiveness
- Responsiveness
- Caring
- Leadership
Our carers are:
- Fully DBS-checked and reference-checked
Trained through a structured induction programme
- Given ongoing training in areas such as dementia, personal care, safeguarding, moving and handling and medication assistance (within our non-clinical scope)
- Supervised and supported by an experienced management team
We are also the sister company of Downsvale Nursing Home, which has received a “Good” rating from the CQC, giving us access to a broad base of experience in supporting older people and those with complex needs.
Tools to Help You Decide on the Right Care
Choosing the right type of care can feel overwhelming. To make it easier, we offer:
- A free, no-obligation home care assessment
- A Free Care Needs Report, based on a simple online checklist, to help you think through whether home care or a care home is likely to suit your situation
You can use these tools to clarify your options before making any big decisions.
